A Joyful Start to 2026 at Recreation

As we welcome 2026, the Recreation Department is excited to bring neighbors together through beloved community events while creating a safe, positive environment for our children to grow, connect, and thrive.

Welcome to 2026 from the Recreation Department! As we begin a new year, we are energized and excited to start planning our community events—one of my favorite parts of being the Recreation Manager. There is nothing more rewarding than watching neighbors come together, sharing laughs, music, and meaningful moments that build lasting connections.

Throughout the year, our team plans and hosts a wide variety of events, including Craft Fairs, the Easter Egg Hunt, Concerts in the Park, our Fourth of July Extravaganza, Fall Festival, and the Holiday Fair. If you haven’t yet had the chance to attend one of our events, we invite you to join us this year. You may be surprised by how quickly friendships form while relaxing at the park and enjoying great entertainment—and your kids may make new friends along the way as well.

We are excited to kick off the year with our first Craft Fair of the season on February 7 at Ramona Oaks Park. This event will feature more than 20 vendors offering a wide variety of one-of-a-kind gifts. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, it’s the perfect opportunity to find something special while supporting local vendors—right here in our own backyard.

On the youth recreation side, our focus this year is Kindness. With so much happening in the world around them, there is no better time to encourage children to respect one another, care for our parks, and learn the value of teamwork. Every child carries their own story, and not all journeys are easy. Even when adults try to shield them, children are often aware when something feels off.

Our goal is to ensure that children enrolled in Recreation programs have a safe, welcoming place where they can play, connect with friends, and feel supported. We want Recreation to be a positive space where kids know they can talk, feel heard, or simply enjoy time together while taking a break from everyday challenges.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our programs and community events. We are grateful for your involvement and look forward to creating another memorable year together.
