Adventure Awaits at ImagiCamp

The ImagiCamp program at the Recreation Center is a great way to keep kids entertained during summer break.

Kids can escape from the boredom of being stuck inside the house during the warm summer days and play with other children at SDCEA’s ImagiCamp. Children aged 5-12 can be signed up one week at a time through August 16, right before school starts. Not only will they spend the summer doing fun and engaging activities with friends, but attending the camp will also help them ease back into their daily routine for school.

Camp begins each day with the kids gathering at the Ramona Oaks Park outdoor stage, where they listen to the counselors share the agenda for the day. Then, they have an opportunity to map out the day with the counselors' guidance while enjoying the fresh morning air.

There are many fun activities in store for them, including group games, board games, snack times, sports, indoor and outdoor free time, two hours of pool time each day, crafts and much more! To keep things exciting, there is a different theme each week, and the crafts coordinate with that theme. Recently, the kids were entertained by a guest Ventriloquist! On Fridays, many of the kids and counselors dress up according to the week's theme.

There are bi-weekly field trips to places like the Birch Aquarium, FunBelievable, the movie theater and the beach, to name a few.

The camp costs $275 per week with a 10-percent discount for siblings. Kids have a great time while making new friends and memories. Camp hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with extended care available from 7-8:15 am for an additional $5 and 4:45-6 pm for an additional $5. For more information, call the Recreation Center at 760-789-4146.
