The Bingo Night fundraiser at San Vicente Resort was a success with a good cause.

On Friday, April 26, the community came together for a special Bingo Night fundraiser with a heartfelt mission. Organized and hosted by Jodie Taylor, the event aimed to support Becky Krewson, a dear friend of Jodie’s recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer. With Becky's upcoming radiation treatment and additional uncovered medical expenses looming, the goal was to raise funds to alleviate the financial burden.

The response from the local community was overwhelming, with 110 tickets sold out and an additional 16 raffle prizes generously donated by businesses and individuals. Thanks to the support of sponsors like Joyce Whelehon, Colleen Doulgeropoulos, Nim Miranda and Get Air Trampoline Park, bingo winners were rewarded with exciting prizes throughout the evening.

Attendees were treated to a delicious catered dinner featuring spaghetti, garlic bread and Caesar salad before the exciting rounds of bingo. Volunteers like Toni Munstermann assisted with checking in guests and selling raffle tickets, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all.

The generosity extended beyond the event itself, with numerous raffle prizes donated by Joanne Rivera, Eric and Amy Charlebois, San Vicente Golf Resort, and others. From golf outings to boutique shopping experiences, the raffle offered a diverse array of enticing prizes.

In the end, the collective efforts and generosity of the community paid off, with a total of $5900 raised after covering expenses. This substantial contribution will not only support Becky's treatment but also significantly ease her financial burden during this challenging time, a testament to the power of our community's support.

As the event drew to a close, the room was filled with smiles and laughter, a powerful testament to the unity and compassion that define our community. The success of Bingo Night shows us what we can achieve when we come together to help a friend in need. We wish Becky strength and healing on the road ahead.
