Bring the Whole Family to Clean & Green Day and Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 19

Rachel French • October 10, 2024

Join us starting at 4 pm at Ramona Oaks Park for a fun-filled family event celebrating community, sustainability, and the fall season with activities, games, food, and music!

The event kicks off at 4 pm with Clean & Green Day, a family-friendly event all about making our community and our world safer, cleaner, and more beautiful now and for future generations. Here are a few of the fun and interesting things you can do:

  • Kids, experience a surPRIZE when you meet Boo Crew founder Phoenix West and the Boy Scouts from local Troop 679. Find out how you can volunteer with the Boo Crew to clean up your SDCE neighborhood after the trick-or-treat festivities on Friday, Nov. 1.
  • You may have questions about recycling, and Ramona Disposal Service will be there to answer. What goes in each of your disposal bins—what is trash vs. recycling vs. organic waste? What can you do with paints, solvents, motor oil, batteries, and electronics? Disposing of these items properly helps keep our planet healthy.
  • Stop by and talk to the folks at Sustainable Ramona and find out how to do your part in helping Ramona develop into an even more land-and-people-friendly climate. Learn about the exciting ongoing efforts to develop Ramona’s profitable, independent, electricity-producing microgrid.
  • At the SDCEA booth, pick up a very handy, high-quality reusable shopping bag. While you’re there, grab a coupon for a discount on your next trip to the Ramona Food and Clothes Closet.

Then, starting at 5 pm, things really get hopping when the Fall Festival gets underway with even more cool things to do:

  • Try your hand at some challenging carnival games and see who can win the most prizes.
  • Strut your stuff and show off your costume as you participate in the cakewalk.
  • Visit the craft booths and pick up a few handmade items from our talented local vendors.
  • Set your creative side free by getting an awesome temporary tattoo.
  • Work up an appetite dancing to the rock and dirt road country sounds of Whiskey State of Mind.
  • Fill your belly with delicious food from Outlaw BBQ, Carnival of Food, and Nomadic Pizza Trolley.

Want unlimited fun? Make sure you get your wristbands for just $10 each.

This will be an amazing day you really don’t want to miss!

At the San Diego Country Estates Association, we are fortunate to have a team full of hardworking, dedicated individuals. This month, we are proud to spotlight someone who exemplifies what it means to go above and beyond. Congratulations to our Employee of the Month for August, Tim Breidenstein, a team player both on and off the golf course.

She wore the crown as a Ramona Queen more than two decades ago, but even after all these years, Anjeanette hasn’t forgotten where she came from or what it gave her. The lessons of Ramona stayed with her: resilience, grace under pressure, and the strength to rebuild when life took a different course.
