Fall Festival & Clean and Green Day Bring Community Together

Families enjoyed an evening of fun, live music, and eco-friendly inspiration at SDCEA’s annual Fall Festival and Clean & Green Day at Ramona Oaks Park.

The sounds of laughter, live music, and the spirit of community filled Ramona Oaks Park last Saturday, Oct. 18, as residents gathered for the annual Fall Festival and Clean & Green Day, a partnership event celebrating fun, family, and sustainability.

“The main goal for our Fall Festival is to bring the children of the community together and enjoy a fun evening,” said Recreation Manager Amy Holsapple. “The event has been part of our concert schedule for more than 20 years and has become a family tradition for many homeowners. Seeing the children grow up and then bring their own kids makes it special each year.”

Families enjoyed carnival games, a cake walk featuring treats from ALDI, delicious food, and live music by Steal Dawn, whose upbeat playlist kept the crowd dancing from start to finish. Wristbands made it easy for children to enjoy every game and activity without waiting in line, a cleaner, faster approach that reduced waste and made the evening more enjoyable.

In collaboration with SDCEA’s Clean & Green team, local partners shared eco-friendly tips and resources with residents throughout the evening. Susan White and Adrienne Biondo from Ramona Disposal, along with Michelle Sund and Belinda Flynn from Sustainable Ramona, provided recycling education and sustainability guidance. The Ramona Food & Clothes Closet also offered a 50% off coupon. Reusable SDCEA shopping bags, designed to promote reuse, were given to event participants. Residents also met Boo Crew founder Phoenix West and his Mom, Kelly, who leads a local post-Halloween clean-up effort on Saturday, Nov. 1.

As the sun set over the park, the combination of community fun and environmental awareness showcased what makes the Estates truly special—a place where neighbors come together to celebrate, connect, and care for the environment they share.
