Georgia’s Garden: A Showcase of Landscape Excellence

Nancy Zadrozny, Landscape and Open Space Manager • July 22, 2025

Once an unused corner of the golf course, Georgia’s Garden is now a flourishing venue thanks to thoughtful landscape design and dedicated maintenance.

Georgia’s Garden stands as a shining example of how strategic landscaping can transform underutilized spaces into vibrant community assets. What began as an overlooked area near the golf course practice range is now a stunning garden venue—thanks to the vision and hard work of the Landscape Department and the generosity of a homeowner who made the transformation possible.

Since its development in 2021, thanks to a generous donation from homeowner Georgia Tranter, the Landscape team has designed, installed, and maintained lush gardens that feature a wide variety of trees, flowering shrubs, and seasonal plantings. Meandering garden beds, shaded by mature oaks, create a natural flow around the site, enhanced by the tranquil sound of a flowing fountain.

The addition of a gazebo and softscape elements—such as mulched paths and layered foliage—makes the space both functional and beautiful year-round. Georgia’s Garden now serves not only as a second wedding venue, but also as a quiet retreat and a favorite backdrop for photos.

It’s a living testament to the power of landscape design in enhancing both aesthetics and usability within the community.

The San Vicente Resort event space is available for weddings and outdoor celebrations. Please contact Catering Manager Joyce Whelehon for more information at 760-789-8290 x4021.
