About Our Club
The SVWGA conducts golf and associated social activities for its members. The Club ensures that play follows USGA rules and our local rules in order to encourage good sportsmanship and congenial association within the Club.
Weekly golf is scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Tuesday golf offers a variety of formats and foursomes are randomly organized to create a unique and fun experience every week. Thursday golf is always in a Stableford format.
The Women’s Club has four major annual tournaments: Presidents Cup, Senior, Super Senior and Club Championships.
We also have an interesting mix of other tournaments: Member-Member, Red and Blue, Ace of the Month, Ace of Aces, Member-Guest and several Saturday games for those ladies who are not able to play during the week.
At year end, club members are recognized and given awards for most improved over the year and Ace of Aces. Quarterly awards are given for Pars, Ringers and Birdies. Plus, we celebrate the exciting Hole-in-One achievers with an award.
The Club also participates in San Diego’s County Team Play, consisting of eight days of play against other San Diego Golf Clubs.
The goal of the SVWGA is to provide a variety of golf functions throughout the year that are fun and promote friendships during weekly play days, tournaments, and celebrations.
