Jerrilynn Myers’ dedication and impact make a difference in our community.

Volunteers come in many shapes and forms, and each contributor brings individualized experience to the San Diego Country Estates Association. This quarter, we are proud to recognize Jerrilynn Myers—a homeowner for 20 years and an equestrian enthusiast—for all her contributions to our community.

At SDCEA, Myers has served on the Budget Development and Audit Committees on and off for the last ten years and has served on the Community Relations Committee since early 2015. She originally joined the committee, desiring to make a positive difference in her neighborhood and community. According to the committee representatives, Juli Elliott and Josh Jones, Myers thinks outside the box and presents valuable ideas during the budget process. She wishes to support management in their efforts and maintain the community.

Her biggest hope is to encourage homeowners in the community to embrace a small annual increase in dues. The facilities are over 50 years old and need to be updated and renovated. She knows it is a challenge and is confident the general manager and assistant general manager are doing all they can to keep things rolling. She added that all the facilities support home values and need to be updated and maintained.

Myers says, “The community has so much to offer for residents.” The rec center offers after-school programs for kids, there are two pools for residents to enjoy, and families can enjoy summer concerts every other week throughout the summer. Myers has a horse and appreciates that SDCE is one of the few communities left in San Diego that have wonderful facilities. In addition, we have golf, and pickleball has become popular, and several tennis courts have been converted to accommodate the growing sport. The Oaks Grille and Par Lounge offer delicious food and live music for a fun night out close to home. There is a lot to do if you wish to participate.

Myers has a strong background and brings her talent for accounting and finance to the committees. She has owned Myers Financial Group, Inc. for 23 years and is a certified financial planner. She works with the older generation and specializes in transitional planning, assisting clients who are experiencing a major change in their lives, such as the loss of a loved one. She also partners with Michael Randall, CFP, EA, who has taken over investment advisory and financial planning for her firm. Myers focuses on trust administration, succeeding as a trustee for at least ten trusts, and is currently completing her Professional Fiduciary certification.

Outside of work, Myers enjoys renovating buildings, including the old Ramona Sentinel building and her own home. She is passionate about architectural salvaging and spends time with her animals—a horse, a cat, and a deaf border collie puppy. A foodie at heart, she loves exploring new cuisines. In recognizing Jerrilynn Myers, we celebrate a dedicated volunteer whose efforts have significantly impacted the San Diego Country Estates community.
