Horsefeathers: July 2024

Lisa Everett, Equestrian Manager • July 25, 2024

Projects work continues in both of our facilities.

Our Equestrian Team continues to be focused on making improvements to Casey Tibbs Western Center (CTWC) and the International Equestrian Center (IEC).

Project Updates

  • Trimmed trees around IEC.
  • We appreciate all boarders who have taken home their personal sheds behind the barn. Almost all have been removed as part of our fire safety initiative. Thank you to everyone.
  • Added a picnic area behind Barn D under the trees.
  • First Equestrian Committee meeting. They will take place the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm in the Rotunda moving forward.
  • Placed more fly bags and fly predators to help with fly control at both facilities during the hot summer months.

Safety First: Be aware of heat safety for your horses! Don’t exercise in the heat and make sure there is always fresh water available. We recommend always having at least one additional bucket of water available to ensure that your horse has access to water, and in case there are any issues with your waterer or the water supply at the facility. For horses in the barns, we recommend keeping the doors open and having fans on to increase circulation. Contact management if you need to fill out an alteration form to add a fan to your horse’s stall. All fans need to be agriculture outdoor fans and no extension cords can be used for fire safety.
