Luke Taliaferro: July’s Employee of the Month

Tiffany Pressler • July 3, 2024

Our Food and Beverage Team is pleased to announce Luke Taliaferro as Employee of the Month for July.

Luke joined the Food and Beverage Team in July 2022 and is a station cook in the kitchen that serves The Oaks Grille, Par Lounge, and Catered Events guests. He is responsible for prepping and serving food from his part of the kitchen, cutting up meats and vegetables and prepping items such as pizza dough. He also uses the grill to cook steaks and hamburgers.

Luke is always approachable and willing to do whatever needs to be done, whether it's working on a scheduled day off, training a new employee or washing dishes. According to his lead, Chef Ben Peterson, Luke brings a likable demeanor to the team and is one of the most reliable and cool-headed employees in their kitchen. “It doesn’t matter how busy it is,” says Peterson. “Luke will always make it seem easier.”

Luke is a student at Palomar College studying film. He enjoys creative things, like writing, film, and music. He is also interested in video game production and is trying to learn as much as possible while attending school. He is constantly on the lookout for new and exciting things to learn about.

Luke feels a strong sense of community working at the resort in the Estates. He really enjoys the people he works with and feels that everyone here is very easy to get along with. When he is not working, he enjoys hanging out with friends and eating at new places.

Congratulations, Luke, on your well-deserved recognition.
