Superintendent’s Revenge Brings Formidable Fun to San Vicente Golf Course
A mischievous course setup, creative challenges and plenty of laughs make Superintendent’s Revenge a golf tournament unlike any other.
Golfers can expect equal parts challenge, laughter and fellowship when the 4th annual Superintendent’s Revenge Tournament returns to San Vicente Golf Course Friday, October 23. The event puts a playful twist on a traditional round of golf, with Superintendent Ben McBride creating a course setup designed to test even the most confident golfers.
The goal is to create “the most challenging course setup possible, but not impossible to play.” Each hole offers its own mischievous surprise, from tricky placements to creative obstacles that will force players to think differently about their approach. It’s formidable fun with a variety of games and contests throughout the tournament, giving golfers plenty of opportunities to compete, laugh and enjoy the day with fellow players.
After play, participants can head to the 10th tee for a barbecue, where they can relax, enjoy some food and swap stories about the day’s most challenging holes.
The tournament will be played using a player scramble format with the Peoria Handicap System, adding another element of competition and giving golfers an opportunity to play together in a fun and unusual format.
The tournament will offer both a Championship Flight and an Open Flight. Players in the Championship Flight will compete from the black tee boxes. In the Open Flight, men will play from the white tee boxes, men over age 70 will play from the gold tee boxes, and women will play from the combination tee boxes.
Entry fees are $60 for San Vicente Golf Course and Players Club members, $100 for SDCEA golfers and $120 for other golfers and members of the public. Players must sign up in the San Vicente Golf Course golf shop by Friday, October 16.
With 72 golfers taking part in the previous tournament, Superintendent’s Revenge has become a fun local golf tradition that gives players a chance to experience San Vicente Golf Course in a completely different way.
Whether players come to test their skills, compete in the games and contests, enjoy the barbecue or simply spend the day with friends, Superintendent’s Revenge promises a memorable round.
