Where Love Lives: February Home of the Month

Tiffany Pressler • February 26, 2025

Shawn and Bernadette Thomas have created a home filled with warmth and affection, earning the title of Home of the Month for February.

Shawn and Bernadette Thomas moved into their SCDE home in 2023. The 3,347-square-foot house has five bedrooms and six bathrooms. There is plenty of room for their two-year-old daughter, Bianca, to explore and a nice, roomy backyard where their Doberman pincher dog can play. In addition, they have a pool to cool down in and use when the weather heats up.

The home sits on a half-acre with fruit trees, including grapefruit, lemon, orange, lime, Calamansi, avocado, and apricot. There is a fountain, and the backyard is a pleasant area to relax. The front yard has a wonderful view of the mountains. “We have done our best to maintain and preserve the home,” says Shawn.

The couple was originally from Rancho Bernardo and moved to a different part of Ramona before moving to SDCE. They wanted to live in the community and be close to the schools so that when the time comes, they can walk their daughter to school. They like that the neighborhood is peaceful, spacious, and private. They also like being close to the park and clubhouse.

Shawn says they are family-oriented and appreciate that the home has an ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) that allows for multi-generational living while still having their own private space.

The couple is excited to be selected for February’s Home of the Month and to have the opportunity to be part of it. They keep it looking nice and are proud to be recognized.

It’s clear that February’s Home of the Month isn’t just a place to live—it’s a place to thrive. Here’s to the spaces that bring us joy, no matter the season. May your home, just like this one, be a source of endless happiness for years to come.
