2026 Men's Member-Guest Delivers a Weekend to Remember

Year after year, the Men's Member-Guest is one of San Vicente's most anticipated traditions, bringing together friendly competition and the strong sense of community that makes the club so special. From competitive golf and memorable shots to laughter, BBQ, and time spent with friends, this year's tournament was everything the event is known for. Held June 19–21, the annual tradition once again brought San Vicente members and their guests together for an unforgettable weekend filled with camaraderie, competition, and lasting memories.

The festivities got underway Friday with an optional practice round before players teed it up in the always-entertaining Flighted Derby. The fast-paced event set the tone for the weekend as teams battled it out for bragging rights and cash prizes. Congratulations to Johnny Lafata and Brian Moberg, who claimed the A Flight title. Mike Gilliand and Richard Silber took home top honors in B Flight, Steve Kiesel and Chamber Marshall captured C Flight, and James Conroy and James Conroy Sr. finished on top in D Flight.

Saturday morning welcomed players with breakfast, a Bloody Mary Bar, and plenty of anticipation before the first 9:00 a.m. shotgun start. Using a unique Stableford format that rewarded both smart strategy and aggressive play, teams competed over two rounds while alternating between one better ball and two better balls. Every hole mattered, and the leaderboard remained competitive throughout the weekend.

When the final putts dropped on Sunday, Johnny Lafata and Brian Moberg stood atop the field as the Overall Gross Champions with an impressive 105 Stableford points. Steve Duncan and JT Duncan earned the title of Overall Net Champions, finishing with a tournament-best 117 Stableford points.

The competition across each flight was just as exciting. Jay Heisterkamp and Michael Yagley captured the Flight 1 championship, while Tim Malinoski and Nicholas Anderson captured first net honors in Flight 2. Joe Moran and Mike Battles came away victorious in Flight 3, and Hugh Blackwood and Terry Collins claimed the Flight 4 title after an outstanding weekend of golf.

Of course, no Member-Guest weekend would be complete without a few incredible tee shots. Congratulations to Simon Morton, Mike Gilliand, Scott Borst, and Steve Monis for winning Saturday's Closest-to-the-Pin contests. Sunday's winners included Lucas Hamal, Patrick Fine, Curtis Morgan, and Pete Torres, whose precision off the tee also earned them Closest-to-the-Pin honors.

The weekend wrapped up with a barbecue, refreshments, raffle prizes, and an awards celebration as players gathered to recognize the champions and reflect on another fantastic Member-Guest. While trophies and prizes were certainly earned, the true highlight was spending a weekend enjoying great golf and even better company.
