A Gift of Rest and Renewal: Riviera Wellness Spa Celebrates Moms This Mother’s Day

This Mother’s Day, a San Diego Country Estates spa owner is encouraging families to skip the usual gifts and give moms what they truly need most—time to relax, recharge, and feel cared for.

As Mother’s Day approaches, many in San Diego Country Estates are searching for the perfect way to show appreciation for the moms in their lives. For Jennifer Lannon, co-owner of Riviera Wellness Spa, the answer is simple: give moms what they truly need-rest, relaxation, and time to recharge.

Lannon, who has co-owned Riviera Wellness Spa with her aunt, PJ Terry, since 2012, has built her career around helping others feel their best. Her journey into wellness began at just 19 years old when she enrolled in massage school.

“It opened up a whole new world of self-care and natural therapies that I wasn’t aware of,” Lannon shared. “I found that I really loved helping people feel better through massage therapy.”

Her passion for wellness didn’t stop there. She later studied holistic nutrition, gaining a deeper understanding of how food impacts overall health. Today, she even enjoys growing her own food, an extension of her commitment to a balanced, healthy lifestyle. Together, Lannon and Terry, who is a longtime San Diego Country Estates resident and licensed esthetician created their spa with a clear mission: to help clients step away from the stresses of everyday life and focus on their well-being.

“We want people to rest and recharge,” Lannon said. “Life is so busy these days, and balance is really the key to feeling happy and fulfilled.”

That philosophy is especially meaningful when it comes to Mother’s Day. As a mother herself, Lannon says the holiday has taken on an even deeper significance over the years. “I love celebrating my mom, she’s the greatest,” she said. “And now that I have kids of my own, it’s even more special.”

She also understands firsthand the demands that come with motherhood, which is why she believes a spa experience is one of the most thoughtful gifts you can give.

“Moms have the toughest job on the planet,” she said. “They’re constantly juggling responsibilities, household tasks, work, schedules. What they really crave is some peace and quiet. A massage or facial is much more meaningful than something like a kitchen gadget.”

At Riviera Wellness Spa, that sense of peace begins the moment guests walk through the door. A sign at the entrance gently reminds visitors to “leave your worries at the door,” setting the tone for a calming experience. Inside, clients are welcomed with soothing music, aromatherapy, and a cozy, private treatment space complete with heated tables. Guests can also enjoy a warm beverage from the spa’s tea station before their service begins.

“It’s all about creating an environment where you can truly relax,” Lannon explained. “We have an amazing team, and we really focus on helping people feel better when they leave than when they arrived.” The spa’s team includes 10 dedicated professionals, from massage therapists and estheticians to hairstylists and managers, all working together to provide personalized care.

To celebrate Mother’s Day, Riviera Wellness Spa is offering special promotions designed with moms in mind. Their popular two-hour combo package, which includes both a massage and facial, is available for $199. “Our Microdermabrasion is $100 right now, normally $130. And we have many other wonderful and rejuvenating services on our menu, all year long. You can find all of our services and prices on our website, www.rivierawellnessspa.com.”

For those still deciding on the perfect gift, Lannon offers a simple piece of advice: think about what moms truly need. “Give her time to relax, unwind, and take care of herself,” she said. “That’s something every mom deserves.”

This Mother’s Day, the gift of wellness might just be the most meaningful one of all.
