The Equestrian Committee hosted a festive potluck on Saturday, June 14, bringing more than 20 community members together to enjoy Mexican dishes, honor volunteers, and spend quality time with family and friends.

Held at the Rotunda, the Fiesta Potluck Dinner featured tables filled with vibrant and flavorful homemade dishes. Guests arrived with their favorite Mexican recipes, creating a delicious spread that everyone enjoyed.

The event was coordinated by Equestrian Committee members Michael Minor, Missi Stone, Terri Law-Terry, Vice Chair Chris Luitjens, Jeff James, and Vanessa Jerrell as a way to foster community connections. Director of Operations Lisa Everett and Equestrian Supervisor Marissa Travis also joined the celebration.

A highlight of the evening was the surprise recognition of Missi Stone as SDCEA’s Volunteer of the Quarter. Lisa presented her with a framed certificate and a $50 gift certificate to San Vicente Resort.

“I appreciate all the hard work you did as part of the committee, and I appreciate you and the committee,” Lisa said during the presentation.

Humbled by the honor, Missi responded, “I stand on the shoulders of giants, and I could not have done anything without the commitment and volunteer service of all the members of the committee,” as her daughter Hannah looked on proudly.

The evening was filled with great food, heartfelt appreciation, and plenty of laughter—highlighting the camaraderie and community spirit that define the Equestrian Committee.
