Honoring Heroes on Memorial Day: Tunnel to Towers Dan Reed Memorial Golf Classic Returns to Ramona

This Memorial Day season, the community is invited to come together in support of America’s heroes at the upcoming Tunnel to Towers Dan Reed Memorial Golf Classic, taking place Friday, June 12, 2026, at San Vicente Golf Resort.

Hosted as part of the national golf series benefiting the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, the event raises critical funds for programs serving catastrophically injured veterans, first responders, Gold Star families, and homeless veterans across the country.

Founded in the spirit of sacrifice and service inspired by September 11, 2001, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is dedicated to ensuring America never forgets the courage of those who protect our freedoms and communities every day. Through its Smart Home Program, the Foundation builds specially adapted mortgage-free homes for severely injured veterans and first responders, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life.

The Foundation also supports surviving families through its Fallen First Responder Home Program and Gold Star Family Home Program, paying off mortgages or providing mortgage-free homes to families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. In recent years, Tunnel to Towers has also expanded its mission to combat veteran homelessness nationwide by providing housing assistance and support services tailored to veterans’ emotional, financial, and physical needs.

“It’s special honoring our veterans and should be a fun and outgoing tournament,” says Sergio Saucedo, golf shop administrator. He will be working at the golf tournament.

The Dan Reed Memorial Golf Classic will feature a full day of activities including breakfast, on-course beverages and lunch, an 11 a.m. shotgun start, cocktail hour, dinner, and opportunities to meet fellow supporters of veterans and first responders.

Community members, local businesses, and organizations are encouraged to participate through sponsorships, tee signs, vendor opportunities, or tournament registration. Sponsorship levels range from tee sign support to title sponsorship packages, with proceeds directly benefiting Tunnel to Towers programs.

The event also honors the memory of Dan Reed while continuing a mission of service and remembrance that resonates deeply during Memorial Day observances. Featured in this year’s tournament materials is U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Dustin Magner, a Smart Home Program recipient whose story reflects the life-changing impact of the Foundation’s work.
