Keeping Our Parks Clean and Pet-Friendly

A reminder for all homeowners to keep our shared parks enjoyable by picking up after pets and following leash rules.

San Diego Country Estates is an incredible place to live—beautiful views, inviting parks and trails, and plenty of space for our furry family members to enjoy. When I take a stroll through Ramona Oaks Park and see homeowners walking with smiles on their faces, whether they’re with a dog or not, I’m reminded of how fortunate we are to have such welcoming spaces. If you’ve walked through our parks and trails recently, you’ve likely noticed the same: neighbors enjoying the day, their pets, and the natural landscape that makes our community so special.

One thing that can quickly disrupt an otherwise wonderful walk is stepping in pet droppings. It’s just such a disruption to a positive experience. We encourage pet parents to bring bags and clean up after their pets; however, we also provide multiple pet waste bag stations throughout our parks and on our popular hiking trails. These bags are available for waste management to anyone who needs them, so even if you forget your own, you’re covered, so the ground is not.

We also want to remind everyone of our community leash rules. While dogs are free to run and play off-leash inside the designated Dog Park areas, they must remain leashed in all other public spaces. This helps ensure the comfort and safety of children, adults, and pets who may be nervous around unleashed dogs.

We love dogs and have space dedicated to their play at Ramona Oaks and Basset Dog Parks. We love parks and recently added San Vicente Park for homeowners to relax and enjoy time near the San Vicente Resort. And we love trails, with miles of pathways to explore. We create safe and enjoyable spaces for our community to share.

By picking up after our pets and keeping them leashed outside the dog parks, we can all do our part to maintain clean, welcoming spaces for every homeowner to enjoy. These small actions help protect the parks we love and contribute to the health and beauty of our shared community.

Thank you for helping keep our neighborhood clean, safe, and enjoyable for all.
