One Last Sleigh of Questions: Final Trivia Night of the Year Brings Community Together
The San Vicente Resort was glowing with twinkle lights and holiday cheer on Tuesday, Dec. 2, as locals gathered for the final Trivia Night of 2025. With Santa hats, matching team sweaters, Christmas pajamas, and plates of holiday treats scattered across the tables, the atmosphere was filled with laughter and Christmas spirit.
Families, friends, and neighbors gathered for an evening filled with festive spirit as teams put their knowledge to the test, from holiday trivia to Ramona history. The five categories of the night were sports, Christmas music, Geography and Geometry, Ramona History, and Food & Drink. Flores said that players loved the past few trivia nights with G&G because teams worked together trying to figure out math problems, and it was fun to watch.
As teams settled into the Christmas-themed trivia night and the first round of holiday questions began, many guests reflected on what this event has meant to them: connection, memories, and a joyful place to gather for the season.
70 people played, split into 12 teams with an average of five members per team. The team names were charismatically creative, including “T’was the Knights B4 Christmas,” “Rein Beers,” “Sharkeys,” “Tres Amigas,” “Pinky & The Brain,” “Tipsey Elves,” “Resting Grinch Faces,” “Brazt,” “67 Kids,” “Lu Whos,” “Naughty Nice Girls,” “Slingin’ Snowmen,” and “Cat 4 + J.R.”
Trivia Host Chico took over Trivia Night in August, and players are loving his energy. He started the event by dancing into the room, which had the crowd cheering. He kept the players engaged from start to finish with his enthusiasm. His high-energy hosting style made each question feel exciting.
“Looks like we are about to shoot a Christmas Target commercial in here,” Flores announced to the hyped-up crowd. The night continued with a cheerful blend of laughter, lights, and lively competition.
Newlyweds Isabelle and Alec Horan joined the fun dressed as elves. This was their fourth trivia night, and this will be their first Christmas together as a married couple.
Sisters, Capri and Makayla Cook, dressed up as Cindy Lou Who and the Grinch from Dr. Seuss’s classic story, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. They like the movie and found the idea on Pinterest. Makayla did Capri’s hair in a gravity-defying Cindy Lou Who up-do.
Players had the chance to win a gift card for food and beverages at the resort—$75 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place, and $25 for 3rd place. Champagne and wine were awarded to the best-dressed of the night.
In 2026, trivia night will continue to be held on the first Tuesday of each month at the San Vicente Resort, hosted by the one and only Chico Flores. He has big plans for next year, including a 70s- and 80s-themed trivia night. He says he likes the decade-era themes and may even throw in the 90s and the 2000s. He added that Ladies Night trivia was a hit and hopes to bring that one back, too.
On his first night hosting back in August, 94 people attended. He is so thrilled to have so much interest and has now decided to have players RSVP and cap the count at 72 to ensure enough seating. He says people can text him at 619-206-2694 to RSVP so he can plan.
We can’t wait to see the excitement unfold at the upcoming 2026 Trivia Nights. With the community coming together, there’s sure to be laughter and festive fun for everyone in the new year.
