Ramona Junior Fair 2026 Start Your Engines-It’s Fair Time

For generations, the Ramona Junior Fair has celebrated the hard work, dedication and accomplishments of local youth, and this year's event brought another week of competition, learning and community spirit. Running from Friday, July 24, through Sunday, August 2, the fair showcased 4-H, FFA and Grange members as they exhibited their livestock, home economics projects and other accomplishments.

The Ramona Junior Fair is organized and operated entirely by volunteers. Community leaders, along with volunteers from participating 4-H, FFA and Grange clubs, dedicate countless hours each year to make the beloved tradition possible, giving local youth the opportunity to display the results of months of hard work and preparation.

San Diego Country Estates resident Trevor Ogilvie, 12, won Grand Champion Rabbit Meat Pen. He has lived in the SDCE since he was 2. The meat pen consists of three rabbits with weights nearly the same. The three rabbit weights were 5.12, 5.14, and 5.16 pounds. The auction was held on Saturday, August 1, and Trevor sold his meat pen for $1150.

According to his mother, Stephanie Ogilvie, says he bred everything this year. “Had a total of 18 babies including at my mom’s barn.” He put together the nest boxes in his own. Ogilvie says it’s an easy beginner project for kid and for kids without an opportunity to raise larger animals.

The Ramona Country Fair was held Friday to Sunday, July 31 to August 2. The family event featured live music, amusement rides, carnival games, and off-road show, food and beverage vendors, craft and commercial vendors, western shows, and a corn hole competition.

SDCE resident Ashley Denhalter attended the fair Friday night with three daughters Sawyer, Norah, and Evelyn to enjoy the carnival rides and festivities.



“The Ramona County Fair has become one of our family’s most cherished traditions,” says Denhalter. Since the girls were little, she has made it a point to go every year

“Our favorite tradition is going on Friday night when the fair first opens,” Denhalter says. “There’s just something magical about the fair after the sun goes down. The bright lights, the excitement of the rides, the delicious food, the music, the entertainment, and the energy all make it feel so special. It never gets old.”

One of her favorite parts is seeing the smiles on the girls’ faces as they walk through the fairgrounds. Whether they’re dancing to live music, exploring the vendors, riding their favorite rides, or simply taking it all in, they’re always full of joy.

“Those moments are memories we’ll treasure forever,” says Denhalter. “Even when it’s incredibly hot, it doesn’t matter. We know we’ll be there, enjoying our Friday night tradition together. The Ramona County Fair is more than just a fair to us, it’s a place where our family reconnects, laughs, creates lasting memories, and celebrates a tradition we’ve loved for years. It’s a tradition we hope to continue for many years to come.”

As the final rides slowed and the fairgrounds quieted, the Ramona Country Fair once again reminded residents why this annual tradition continues to thrive. From live entertainment and local vendors to family activities and friendly competition, the event brought the community together for a weekend filled with memories, laughter, and hometown pride.
