SDCEA Reminds Residents of Motorized Vehicle Rules

August 12, 2026

The San Diego Country Estates Association (SDCEA) is reminding residents about restrictions on the use of e-bikes, e-motorcycles, scooters and golf carts, particularly by minors, in areas where motorized vehicles are prohibited.

The Association has seen an increase in minors operating these vehicles in restricted areas, creating safety concerns for riders, pedestrians and others in the community. Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring their children understand and follow SDCEA rules regarding motorized vehicle use.

Motorized vehicles, including e-bikes, e-motorcycles, scooters and golf carts that are not registered with SDCEA and do not have the required trail pass, are prohibited in the following areas:

  • The golf course
  • Horse trails
  • The Administration Building and surrounding grounds
  • Pool and Snack Bar area
  • Any other area where motorized vehicle use is prohibited by posted signage or Association rules

These restrictions are intended to protect golfers, equestrians, pedestrians, employees, visitors and minors operating motorized vehicles. Unauthorized use in restricted areas can result in serious injury, property damage and conflicts within the community.

SDCEA is asking parents and guardians to speak with their children about these rules and actively supervise their use of motorized vehicles.

Association staff will continue monitoring restricted areas, and individuals found violating the rules may be subject to enforcement action. Repeated violations may result in citations, fines and/or suspension of Association privileges.

“Your cooperation is essential to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone,” the Association said.
