Annual Mowing and Easement Maintenance

Joshua Jones, Assistant General Manager • February 25, 2025

The Association launches its annual courtesy easement mowing service, reminding members to maintain unobstructed access by trimming vegetation and removing debris.

The grass is flourishing, signaling it's time to commence mowing. The Association extends its annual courtesy mowing service in the easements, and the Landscape/Open Space Team is gearing up to begin in the upcoming weeks. To ensure a seamless mowing season, here are some reminders for members regarding easement maintenance.

The easements constitute a section of a member's property that the Association has designated for access. While the property remains under the ownership of the homeowner, it must stay accessible to the membership and adhere to the guidelines outlined in the governing documents. This entails regular trimming of plants, shrubs, and trees to ensure unobstructed access through the easement.

The Association has implemented a business practice of providing an annual courtesy mowing service in the easements. However, please note that this service does not encompass trimming trees and bushes or clearing debris such as trash, old clippings, or sandbags. If any of these items obstruct access to the easement, the Landscape/Open Space Team will be unable to proceed with mowing.

Please take a moment to check your easement space for anything that would prevent a riding mower from going through. Cut back shrubs, the clearance, and into the easement. Trim trees to maintain adequate clearance and remove any debris that may have accumulated. Plants should be maintained at a height of 4 inches or less, and trees trimmed to maintain a clearance of 13 feet 6 inches from the ground.

With your help, we can make the annual mowing event a smooth ride.
