Thunder Matheny: February's Employee of the Month

Tiffany Pressler • February 19, 2025

February is the month of love, and the San Diego Country Estates Association is celebrating Thunder Matheny for her dedication and passion for her work.

Thunder Matheny is a server in the Oaks Grille and Par Lounge and is a standout choice for Employee of the Month. According to Food and Beverage Front of the House Manager Colleen Doulgeropoulos, Matheny makes guests feel comfortable and important and has excellent knowledge of the menus.

Since joining us on August 16, 2019, she has exemplified outstanding service and a commitment to excellence. Her positive attitude and unwavering work ethic have significantly enhanced our guests' dining experiences.

Matheny started as a hostess and worked to become a food runner and now a server. She has excelled working with guests and has outstanding customer service. She loves what she does, and it shows.

"Matheny is all about health and self-care," says Doulgeropoulos. And she loves hanging out with her children; she is a mother of three. Matheny says she loves her work environment, the people she works with, and the guests.

We sincerely thank Matheny for providing our guests with a wonderful experience here in the heart of SDCE.
