Environmental Control Committee – Volunteer Opportunity

Joshua Jones, Assistant General Manager • August 29, 2025

Are you interested in making a positive impact in your community?

SDCEA is seeking two volunteers to serve on the Environmental Control Committee (ECC).

The ECC is a 3-member committee established by Article IV of the CC&Rs, to ensure that all improvements on lots within the Association meet the standards outlined in the governing documents.

The committee meets twice per month, on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday, generally for one hour 8 am to 9 am, and then for a 20-minute Open Session at 11 am. The committee will conduct progress inspections for homeowner projects, review and approve project applications, and meet with homeowners as needed.

ECC members should be able to express themselves effectively while discussing subjects in a rational, polite, and professional manner with homeowners. Knowledge of SDCEA governing documents is recommended (CC&Rs and SDCEA Handbook). Committee members are not required to be a member of the Association, architect, or board member, but should have a related background to architecture, planning, projects, design, and related disciplines.

If you are interested in this position, please fill out a volunteer interest form and submit it by Sunday, Sept.  21, 2025, to Community Relations at CRDdept@sdcea.net, or by mail at 15910 Avenel Lane, Ramona, CA 92065, Attn: CRD Manager.

Questions about the committee or the position can be directed to the Assistant General Manager at Joshua.Jones@sdcea.net
