Horsefeathers: Equestrian Center Enhances Facilities and Welcomes New Boarders

The Equestrian Team remained active throughout March, focusing on maintenance, safety, and welcoming new boarders.

Highlights include:


  • Continued rain preparation efforts at both facilities.
  • Replaced bleacher boards near the dressage courts in the IEC infield.
  • Built, painted, and installed new tack room doors in the Mare Motel.
  • Organized the infield for the March 22 Cowboy Challenge presented by resident trainer Joann Henrickle.
  • Started weed whacking and mowing around barns, infields, and hillsides at the IEC.
  • Began spreading compost on the IEC hillside to control weeds and prevent erosion.
  • Collaborated with a welder to repair corral panels, ensuring horse safety.
  • Met with prospective boarders; four new horses are moving into the IEC, and one into CTWC.
  • Prepared IEC corrals #6, #17, and #21 for new arrivals.
  • Readied Barn B Stall 1 and the double stalls (4 & 5) for incoming horses.
  • Installed stall mats in four CTWC stalls.
  • The entire Equestrian Team completed First Aid, CPR, and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) certification training.
