Ramona Archway Sign Unveiling is Less Than a Week Away

The Ramona Archway Sign unveiling is fast approaching on Thursday, October 31. The Ramona community will come together to celebrate the unveiling of the Ramona Archway sign at the intersection of 10th and Main Street during the Merchants Safe Trick-or-Treat. The block party celebration will feature live music by Dirty Confetti starting at 5:30 pm, and the unveiling ceremony will begin at 6:30 pm.

According to Stephanie Norvell, owner of Town & Country Home Loans, Inc. and volunteer for the Ramona Archway sign, the sign went up Wednesday, October 23, at 9 pm.

“Our first fundraiser for the Archway was held on Halloween, October 31, 2019,” says Norvell. “Then COVID hit and stopped our progress for a few years.” She added that they obtained a grant from the County of San Diego, which sparked up planning again. They had so many volunteers in the community who stepped up and wanted to be a part of this historic vision. “Our Board of Directors thanks them from the bottom of our hearts,” she said.

Leslie Souza, who designed and created the Welcome to Ramona sign at Highland Valley Road as well as the Ramona Library, is the creator of the Ramona Archway. “She is amazing!” says Norvell.

“We hope to see everyone at the unveiling. 10th Street will be closed between Main Street and D Street. We will have a band, and Joel Anderson will also be there for the unveiling. A great evening planned from 4 to 9 pm,” Norvell says.

It seems fitting to have the unveiling celebration on the fifth anniversary of the first archway fundraiser. It’s more than just an unveiling; it’s a celebration of our communities’ spirit. Come together for a day of inspiration and share the excitement for this new chapter.
