SDCEA Spring Craft Fair
The Spring Craft Fair returns to Ramona Oaks Park on May 2, transforming the community space into a vibrant marketplace of handmade goods, local vendors, and live music. With unique gifts and Mother’s Day finds it’s a lively celebration of creativity and hometown spirit.
The beloved Craft Fairs at Ramona Oaks Park are back this spring, offering a local shopping experience filled with creativity, community spirit, and one-of-a-kind handmade treasures. Held annually in February and May, with an additional event in the fall, these popular fairs are a highlight for residents looking to shop close to home. There are no summer events, as the warmer temperatures make outdoor markets less comfortable for vendors and guests alike.
The upcoming Craft Fair and Vendor Market will take place on May 2 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Ramona Oaks Park, 25341 Pappas Road. Visitors can wander through more than 30 vendor booths, discovering a wide variety of handcrafted goods and specialty items.
Shoppers will find everything from crocheted animals, homemade jewelry, and hand-crafted wooden toys to freeze-dried candy, baked goods, candles, oils, and clothing. Popular vendors such as Pampered Chef, 31 Bags and Totes, and creators of wine-themed trinkets will also be on site. A special highlight of the event is the Garden Club booth, offering a beautiful selection of potted plants. Proceeds from plant sales go toward local student scholarships, directly benefiting the community’s youth.
Many vendors also create special Mother’s Day-inspired items, including greeting cards, picture frames, and thoughtful gifts designed for the holiday. With so many unique offerings, the craft fair truly becomes a treasure hunt. There is always something unexpected waiting to be discovered, whether for a loved one or a personal keepsake.
According to Joanne Rivera, Recreation Secretary, San Diego Country Estates, one of the best parts of this event is its strong local focus. Most vendors live within the community, making it an opportunity to shop small and support neighbors directly. Unlike online shopping, visitors can see, touch, and experience items in person before making a purchase, adding a personal connection to every find.
The vendor fee remains intentionally affordable at $10 per space, encouraging participation from small businesses, hobbyists, and even young entrepreneurs. It is not uncommon to see kids proudly selling their handmade jewelry, baked goods, and other creative projects. Vendor coordination is managed by Amy Holsapple, who maintains an ongoing email list and invites returning and new participants to join each fair.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, local musician Robert Adams will provide live music from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Adams, a member of the band Steal Dawn featured in the community’s summer concert series will perform solo at this event, bringing a lively soundtrack to a morning of shopping and community connection.
With its welcoming atmosphere, diverse vendors, and strong sense of local pride, the Ramona Oaks Park Craft Fair continues to be a favorite tradition. Come enjoy a relaxing day outdoors, support local makers, and discover something truly special right in your own backyard.
