Annual Weed Abatement Mowing Underway

Annual mowing of Open Spaces and homeowners' easements is underway, with expanded coverage this year due to Fire Fuel Management efforts. Completion is expected by mid-to-late July.

The Landscape and Open Space Team has begun its annual mowing of our Open Spaces and the once-a-year courtesy mowing of homeowners' easements.

Many of our main meadows will be mowed twice or more this season to manage the flush of growth following the late March rains. Although the start was delayed, we are now in full swing with four mowers actively working in the field.

This year, a larger area will be covered compared to previous years, as additional spaces have been cleared through our Fire Fuel Management protocols.

We anticipate completing mowing activities by mid to late July to accommodate the expanded coverage areas.

We kindly remind homeowners to keep their easements free of debris, as we are seeing an increase in dumping "behind the fence." Debris not only damages our equipment — leading to costly and time-consuming repairs — but also delays our work.

Our dedicated team works diligently to maintain our Open Spaces, and we encourage you to take advantage of this beautiful spring weather to enjoy the areas we help preserve.
