San Vicente Saddle Club: Tack Sale

Heather McGhee • July 30, 2024

San Vicente Saddle Club organized a tack sale on Sunday, July 28.

The San Vicente Saddle Club leaders organized a tack sale last Sunday, and 15 vendors offered “tack,” which is a term for the equipment and accessories needed for horseback riding. Items were displayed in the back of trucks, in booths with easy-ups, and on stands, providing a variety of tack stores to experience.

The event was filled with people who love horses and riding, and there were many interesting moments. Below are a few highlights:

Custom-Made Saddle Stands

Don and Jewell Harrison traveled from San Diego to Ramona with their custom-made wooden saddle stands. Don crafts the stands from wood, adds beautiful equestrian-themed elements made of metal, cowhide, and rope trim, and adorns them with some Texas stars.

Shopping for Others

An anonymous woman strolled through the sale and selected many used horse blankets to purchase. This was an unusually high number of blankets to purchase at one time, and when asked about the quantity, she responded they were being donated to children in need. She never shared her name or the children's organization before she left.

Thank you, for your kindness.
