Spring Break Fun: Activities for Families Around San Diego

Spring break in Ramona and the San Diego Country Estates is packed with family-friendly fun—from camps and egg hunts to outdoor adventures and local attractions—making it easy to keep kids active, entertained, and making memories all week long.

Spring break is just around the corner and families in the San Diego Country Estates and Ramona area will have plenty of opportunities to keep kids active, entertained and enjoying the outdoors. From recreation camps to Easter egg hunts and San Diego attractions, there are many ways to make the most of the week off from school.


The Spring Break Camp at the Ramona Oaks Recreation Center runs from March 30 through April 6 and offers a fun and structured option for local families. Campers can enjoy games, crafts, outdoor play and group activities while making new friends.


The annual Easter Egg Hunt at Ramona Oaks Park at 25341 Pappas Rd, will be held on Saturday, March 28. There will be thousands of colorful eggs are hidden throughout the park for children to discover. Families can also take photos with the Easter Bunny and enjoy a festive morning outdoors. 9:30 am kicks off the egg hunt for ages four and under; 10 am for kids five to seven years old; and 10:15 am for kids eight years and up.

Ramona United Methodist Church will be having an Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 29 at 10 am at 3394 Chapel Lane.


Conrad Prebys Ramona Branch, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego will have a spring break day camp Monday, March 30 through Monday, April 6. The 6-day camp will run from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.


Riviera Oaks is having a spring break sports camp March 30 through April 3 for kids 5 to 12. Campers will enjoy a variety of acuities including tennis, pickleball, swimming, arts & crafts, and team games. The camp is from 9 am to 3 pm daily.


The SoCal Spring Fling Livestock show will be held at the Ramona Fairgrounds March 27-29. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100087890217883. Spectators are welcome to visit while youth exhibitors show animals like goats, sheep, cattle, and pigs.

Across San Diego County, parks and recreation centers host spring celebrations throughout March and April. Many events feature bounce houses, music, crafts and egg hunts for different age groups. Some locations even include extras like face painting, games and magic shows for kids. These community events are often free and are a great way for families to enjoy the spring season together.


Spring break is also a great time to explore some of San Diego County’s well-known family destinations. Popular options include the San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, Sea World and LEGOLAND California. These attractions offer animal encounters, rides, interactive exhibits and seasonal programs that make them especially popular during spring break. 



Families can also explore beaches, hiking trails and parks throughout the county, taking advantage of San Diego’s mild spring weather.

Whether attending a local camp, searching for Easter eggs at Ramona Oaks Park or visiting a regional attraction, there are plenty of ways for families to enjoy spring break without traveling far from home.
